Ashton’s and Neumann’s Flashes are part of a group of nine sites which make up theNorthwich Woodlands. Created from what was once largely derelict land, the Woodlands now provides a rich and green environment to the north of Northwich town centre. Each of the nine countryside sites that make up the Northwich Woodlands has its own unique character and history. The Weaver Navigation and the Trent and Mersey canal flow through the heart of the Woodlands adding further variety to the landscape. Its network of surfaced paths provides many routes accessible to all and appeals to a variety of users including horse riders, cyclists, nature lovers and families.
Why not explore the rest of the Northwich Woodlands? Stroll through the meadow atFurrey Wood, follow the wildflower trail at Anderton Nature Park or try your hand at orienteering in Marbury Country Park.
With the exception of the island site of Furrey Wood, all other sites lie within the heart of the Northwich Woodlands. Cyclists can explore the links with national cycle ways, whilst pedestrians can combine a visit to Northwich Woodlands with routes such as the North Cheshire Way.
