PCSO Update

Our main focus has continued to be around Saxon’s Lane Park and Moss Farm to combat the ASB. Officers are conducting regular patrols, both in uniform and plain clothes to gather further intelligence and show a physical presence. Feedback from residents has been positive in regards to the changes made in the areas and figures are showing a decrease in the numbers of calls reporting this type of behaviour.
Speed enforcement has continued to be carried out throughout the month with a number of offences submitted to the central ticket office. I am pleased to report that fewer offences have been captured this month.

I have been coordinating Neighbourhood Watch in a bid to ensure regular updates can be sent out. Hopefully we can look to get meetings arranged when able to due to COVID restrictions. Signage will hopefully be able to be erected over the coming weeks too.
Summer ‘Games on the Park’ have been throughout August. The feedback received has been very positive and been able to engage with members of the community.

To reiterate, if members of the public wish to report any incidents, this must be done through the correct channel, by calling 101 or 999 or reporting via our website and NOT via social media or text / voicemail. Unfortunately we are unable to deal with crimes if not reported via the correct channel.

PC Update

An investigation is underway in relation to offences of affray, possession of a bladed article and being concerned in the supply of a controlled substance. This followed a report of a male in Verdin park with a large knife.

Whilst Verdin park is not covered by PCSO Pike and PC Lee the suspect in the incident lives on our area. Plain clothes patrols were deployed to the area of the suspects address in a bid to locate him and officers observed what they believed to be drug dealing activity taking place. The suspect was located at the address and arrested with various items seized to assist in the investigation including a large knife matching the description of that seen at the park.

PC Lee will be the officer in charge of this investigation.

Please also see web-link below for our Residents Voice Survey. The feedback will help us to identify issues within the area. We understand that not every area has the same issues and concerns and this allows us to create a proactive work plan based on residents feedback. This will be reviewed on a monthly basis so continual feedback is also welcomed.

I will be holding my surgery at the start of the Parish Council meeting on Monday 13th September. I will be there from 7:00pm for anyone who wishes to come and speak with me directly.

Many thanks and keep safe.
