Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

We have been made aware that some residents in Cheshire  have received an email claiming to be a local Parish Priest asking for parishioners  to purchase Google/ itune vouchers for a worthy cause.
The scam is that when you buy the voucher the fraudster will ask for the activation code form the rear of the voucher, Once they have the code they have the full  value of the voucher.
This is an old scam previously the fraudster have contacted victims via the phone/ email  claiming to be from HMRC .
REMEMBER if any company/person/agency  asks for you to make a payment via this method it is likely to be a scam.
If you believe that you have been a victim please report it to Action Fraud
