News Bulletin

Runcorn Local Policing Unit, Halton Brook

September 2019

Local Crime

There have been a number of incidents of children throwing stones at elderly resident’s addresses over the last month. No damage has been reported but as you can imagine it’s quite unsettling to endure. High visibility patrols have been undertaken in the affected areas with reassurance visits to the residents concerned.

We have seen an increase in discarded NOS cartridges and small vodka bottles being discarded where youths like to hang out at Rock Park. There have been a few reports of criminal damage to vehicles in adjoining roads with the youths being suspected of causing the damage. Patrols are being stepped up in the area and foot patrols through the park in the evenings will take place.

Plain clothed officers stopped a local male on the estate after being seen riding a scrambler bike with no insurance and whilst disqualified. The bike was seized and the male was arrested. He will now appear in court for numerous motoring offences.

Although the bike we seized was a good result there have still been a number of sightings of illegal motorbikes coming onto the estate. We are still appealing to residents to contact us in confidence either via the social media private messaging channels, via 101 or at our LPU email address RUNCORN.LPU@CHESHIRE.PNN.POLICE.UK if they have any information about nuisance motorbikes are stored or who is riding them.

Roads Policing
Tru-Cam speed enforcement has been conducted a number of times on Boston Avenue with a small number of activations. If there are any roads that you think require our attention with the camera please get in touch and let me know by social media or email.
