News Bulletin
Runcorn Local Policing Unit, Heath & Beechwood

August 2019

Speed Enforcement
Speed Enforcement has been conducted on Beechwood Avenue and Clifton Road.

Hoax Calls
Recently we have had an increase in reports of automated calls claiming to be working for HMRC. Victims receive a voicemail saying that they owe HMRC unpaid taxes and upon returning the call they are told that the only way of settling is by using iTunes vouchers. HMRC would never ask you to pay an outstanding tax bill using iTunes vouchers. If you receive a suspicious call, end it immediately and report it to Action Fraud on 0300 1232040 or Cheshire Police on 101.

Parking Issues
Obviously due to the school holiday’s the issues around schools have subsided over the last 4 to 5 weeks, however with the schools due to be back soon regular patrols will be taken. Another issue now that the football season has started is that the roads around Heath Park will see an increase in parking issues and these will be monitored.

Op Scrambler
Op Scrambler is still running and robust action will be taken against those who we can identify. If you have any information please get in touch via 101.

We are keen over the coming months to try and advertise the introduction of Neighbourhood Watch schemes in Heath & Beechwood via the Cheshire Alert web page. If any members of Cheshire Alert would like to set-up and become a coordinator of a watch scheme then we as the police will offer support and advice in any way we can, my e-mail is attached at the bottom of this newsletter and I look forward to hearing from anyone who wishes to set-up a scheme that we can get involved with.
