Local Community Speedwatch Scheme - Volunteers

Alert message sent 27/01/2019 10:58:00

Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

Dear residents,

One of the main issues that effects residents of Odd Rode and is reported to me is the ongoing problem of speeding vehicles on the roads through the villages and main roads.

Because of this I am looking to recruit new volunteers to join a local community speed watch scheme. The Speedwatch scheme provides an opportunity for residents to take positive action in the respect of road safety and the monitor of vehicle speeds in order to:
  • Improve the quality of life for local communities
  • Reduce death and injury on the roads
  • Reduce traffic noise and pollution in local communities
  • Increase public awareness of inappropriate speeds
At this point in time I am looking to see what kind of interest there is regarding this scheme. If there is enough interest I will then hold a meeting to discuss the scheme in depth and answer any questions you have.

So if you are interested in joining a local Speedwatch scheme then please do reply stating the area you would like to cover.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Many thanks

PCSO Matthew Steele
