Incidents reported for Whitby Ward during the period of
24th December 2018 to 6th January 2019
Due to leave of the Christmas period please find the incidents reported between the pre and post Christmas news bulletins.                          
  • Burglary
  •  Chester Road - At approx. 6pm on Tuesday 1st January a local resident reported a house alarm sounding.  It was found that a brick had been thrown through the door of the property to gain access.  An untidy search was carried out and watches were taken.
  • Criminal Damage
  •  Chester Road - On Friday 4th January at approx. 11pm 2 males and a female were witnessed pushing the top pillar off a residential wall causing it to smash on the pavement.
  • St. Thomas View - At some point during the Christmas period a ground floor bathroom window has been smashed.
  • Damage to motor vehicles
  •  Weaver Road - At 5.30pm on Sunday 30th December a group of youths passing through the road have caused damage to vehicles which were parked at the road side.  A Ford Fiesta had a wing mirror pulled off and a Peugeot had a wing mirror damaged.  When challenged by a local resident the group ran off.
  • Suspicious activity
  • Silverne Drive – At approx. 1.15pm on Monday 24th December and unknown male walked through the front door of the sheltered accommodation and was confronted by staff.  The male stated he was looking for Bunbury House and when told he had the wrong property he left.  Male was described as around 40 years of age with brown hair.  He was wearing green pants, with pockets on the side and a black coat.  He was carrying a Burger King cup.
  • The Groves area – At approx. 11.45am on Saturday 5th January 2 males were seen walking up and down residential paths and appeared to be looking into properties.  Males were described as 1 wearing a red jacket and the other wearing a green jacket.
