Runcorn Local Policing Unit, Halton Castle ward

NOVEMBER 2018
November has been a busy time in our ward with a few annual events taking place, including Bonfire Night and Remembrance Sunday.  Along with Officers already on duty Special Constables were asked to work both events and I’m pleased to report both events went smoothly without any major incidents.

NEWS
We have now seized 15 Bikes which have been used to cause Anti-Social behaviour in the area.  Thank you for your continuing efforts to assist us with information regarding the whereabouts of these motorbikes and their riders.  We are continuing   with OP Scrambler to rid Runcorn of this nuisance.  You can send any Dashcam footage or information relating to were nuisance motorbikes are stored to Runcorn.lpu@cheshire .pnn.police.uk

HOME SECURITY
We had reports of an attempted burglary in the village last month so please be vigilant lock all your doors even if you’re in and don’t leave your keys in the locks or on a table near to the doors. Secure all windows and doors when away from your property even if you are only nipping next door.  As Christmas approaches   remember if you can see all year presents through your window as you look at your property so can a thief. Protect yourself from window shoppers!!!! Don’t leave your valuables on show in your car either pop them in your boot out of sight .
Now that the dark nights are here motion activated security lights should be high on your to do list not only will it draw people’s gaze towards your property but thieves would rather work unseen
ROAD POLICING
Tru-Cam speed enforcement will be conducted on the ward once a week and we have a set time of 1 hour when enforcing.  Recent areas enforced have been Castlefields Avenue North and Castlefields Avenue East resulting in 3 drivers exceeding the limit.
Please drive within the speed limit to avoid receiving   penalties
