Ellesmere Port & Neston Police News Bulletin
7th to 12th October 2018
 If you have any CCTV, dash cam footage, etc., that you think may have captured something of relevance in relation to any of the below incidents, further information such as dates and times can be provided.
Criminal Damage
Incidents reported relating to criminal damage, with the exclusion of damage to vehicles:

  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Thornton Road – Throughout news bulletin period youths have been causing damage to the fencing around new build site.
  • Robinson Road – Communal door damaged to gain entry to flats.  A number of postal boxes within the area also damaged in what appears to have been an attempt to enter them.
  • Dover Court – Large rock thrown at window by youths causing window to smash.
  • Cromwell Road – Youths have been onto the site of the old ‘Phoenix Club’ and set off fire extinguishers and thrown pieces of scaffolding around causing minor damage.
  • Thornton Road – Fencing pulled down and damaged near to ‘Gunners Arms’ by group of youths. 
  • Neston
  • Jonson Road – Front living room window smashed with brick.
  • St. Pauls
  • Overpool Road – Lounge window smashed.
  • Christleton Drive – Lounge window damaged by stones.
  • Grange
  • Sutton Way – Door to flat damaged by unknown means which has also caused damage to bottom lock.
  • The Boulevard – New fence damaged when 2 of the holding clips pulled out and discarded onto the lawn.
  • Rostherne Avenue – Window damaged by pellet, leaving small hole in glass.
Vehicle Crime
Incidents reported relating to theft / attempt THEFT OF motor vehicles:

  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Braemar Court – Entry gained into Grey Ford Transit Custom, HJ17 SFY by unknown means. Vehicle is then driven away.  Van has the logo ‘CREST’ on the side with a yellow emblem and the words ‘tried and trusted’.
  • Thornton Road – Police vehicle damaged by youths jumping onto bonnet, causing a small dent.
Incidents reported relating to theft / attempt THEFT FROM motor vehicles:

  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Newnham Drive – 2 separate reports received during time frame of this news bulletin.
  • 1st - Delivery driver found Ford Transit Custom van with all doors open.  Upon checking with owner it was found that entry had been gained into the van unknown means.  Nothing appears to have been taken so it is possible offender/s have been disturbed.
  • 2nd - Citroen Belingo has small drivers side window vent broken to gain entry.  Sat. nav. taken.
  • Doune Court – Ford Transit has drivers door jemmied open but nothing taken from within.
  • Whitby
  • Avondale – Peugeot E7, parked on driveway entered by damaging door.  Nothing reported to have been taken.
  • Strawberry
  • Rosemere Drive – Ssangyong Musso pick up, parked on residential driveway entered by unknown means.  Search of vehicle and watch, wallet, laptop and camera taken. – Some belongings found by male from Coventry Avenue in wooded area along with his own.
  • Coventry Avenue – Audi A4 Avant, parked on driveway entered by unknown means and tools, wallet, bright blue Jack Wolfskin coat and mobile phone taken.-  Some items found in wooded area near to address. 
Incidents reported relating to DAMAGE TO motor vehicles:
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Marlborough Road – Hyundai Tucson, parked on roadside has glass in wing mirror smashed. 
  • Willaston and Thornton
  • Broadlake – 2 reports received where vehicles have had their tyres damaged.
  • 1st – Further damage to Audi A6 vehicle tyre where it has been punctured by a dart or similar sharp implement. – Repeat victim.
  • 2nd – Honda CRV has rear tyre punctured.
  • St. Pauls
  • Rossmore Gardens – Vauxhall Astra has wing mirror kicked off by drunken youth having left a nearby house party.
Other incidents of note…

  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Bunbury Green – Large group of youths set fire to wheelie bins and other items on nearby field.
  • Alnwick Drive – Small pile of rubbish set alight outside community centre.
  • Kinsey Road – Whilst shopping in ‘Burberry’ unknown offender disturbed rummaging through unattended handbag on pram.
