10 April 2018Cheshire West and Chester Council is supporting Cheshire West Voluntary Arts Network for its third arts award event to recognise and celebrate the work of the many arts groups working in their local communities.Lisa Harris, Director of Places Strategy, Cheshire West and Chester Council said: “We are asking for nominations for the unsung heroes and community groups who enable people of all ages to participate in a wide range of arts activities to be honoured at a special awards evening at Chester Town Hall on 5 June. All nominees will be invited to attend this great celebration. “If you are an arts group, or know of a group or individual that should be recognised for their work then we would like to hear from you and encourage nominations”. The application deadline is 5pm, Monday 23 April. Cheshire West Voluntary Arts Network supports and promotes voluntary arts groups across Cheshire West and Chester. There are more than 150 organisations creating opportunities for people of all ages and walks of life to participate in music, song, dance, art, theatre and much more. At least 15,000 local people in Chester, Ellesmere Port and the Northwich and Winsford areas take part in a variety of arts activities, learning new skills, gaining confidence, enhancing their life opportunities and making new friends. The awards event is also supported by the Horseradish and The Earl of Chester’s Fund.
