Permanent traffic order

Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council propose to make an Order under Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers.

1. The effect of the order will be to introduce a reduced speed limit on Ashton Road,Delamere Road, Blakemere Lane, Post Office Lane and School Lane, Hatchmere.. The new proposed limits are set out in the Schedules below:-


Schedule one

Proposed 50mph speed limit
  • Delamere Road – From its junction with Guest Slack to a point 635 metres north of Ashton Road.

Schedule two

Proposed 40mph speed limit
  • Blakemere Lane – from a point 635 metres north of Ashton Road to a point 280metres north of Ashton Road
  • Ashton Road – from a point 239 metres west of Blakenere lane to a point 678 metres east of Dark Ark Lane.

Schedule three

Proposed 30mph speed limit
  • Delamere Road – from a point 280 metres north of Ashton Road to its junction with Blakemere Lane
  • Blakemere Lane – from its junction with Delamere Road to a point 560 metres south of Ashton Road
  • School Lane – from its junction with Delamere Road to its junction with Post Office Lane
  • Post Office Lane – from its junction with School Lane for a distance of 132 metres in an easterly direction

Schedule four

Revocation of existing national speed limit orders
  • Delamere Road – from its junction with Guest Slack to a point 635 metres north of Ashton Road.
  • School Lane – from its junction with Delamere Road to its junction with Post Office Lane
  • Post Office Lane – from its junction with School Lane for a distance of 132 metres in an easterly direction

Schedule five

Revocation of existing 40 mph  speed limit orders
  • Delamere Road – from its junction with Ashton Road to a point 280 metres north of Ashton Road
  • Blakemere Lane – from a point 560 metres south of Ashton Road to its junction with Delamere Road
  • Ashton Road – from its junction with Blakemere Lane to a point 239 metres west of Blakemere Lane
2.    Full details showing the proposals are contained in the draft order which, together with a map showing the affected area; the Council’s statement of reasons for making the order and a copy of this Notice, may be examined during the usual office hours at the following offices;
  • Winsford Area Highways Office, Phoenix House, Clough Road, Winsford, CW7 4BD; 
  • The One Stop Shop, Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council, Wyvern House, The Drumber, Winsford, Cheshire CW7 1AH;
  • Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council’s Information Centre at 1 The Arcade, Northwich CW9 5AS.
3.    All objections and other representations relating to the Order must be made in writing and objections must specify the grounds on which they are made, to the undersigned quoting reference TRO 1944 by 25 May 2018.
