Have your say on the future of Northwich Market
8 June 2021Plans are underway to regenerate the Weaver Square area of Northwich and residents are now being asked for views and ideas on what you value from the current town centre market offer and what changes, if any, you would like to see brought forward, by taking part in a short online survey.
Residents opinions are a key part of the future development of Weaver Square and the wider regeneration of the town, so it’s important to ensure that it reflects the needs and wants of local people and complements the existing retail and leisure offer within the town.
Cabinet Member for Inclusive Growth, Economy and Regeneration, Councillor Richard Beacham said: “This is an exciting opportunity to consider how a beautiful town like Northwich could have a new and modern market, which respects the history of the current market, whilst identifying new innovations that are delivering a surge in popularity for markets in other nearby towns.
“The views of residents and existing traders will be vitally important in helping shape plans for a new market in Northwich, which will ultimately help attract more new visitors and local people into town.”
Workman’s Activate have been appointed by the Council to carry out a market study and results from this current resident survey and a future market trader survey will provide real insight into the views of local communities. The results from the study will be published in the coming months.
