Permanent traffic order

Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council proposes to make the following Traffic Regulation Order in accordance with the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council
(Swanlow,  Winsford) (20mph speed limit) Order 2018

The effect of the Order will be to introduce a 20mph speed limit on the following lengths of road


Swanlow, Winsford

  • Well Street – From its junction with High Street to its junction with Queensway; 
  • Queensway – From its junction with Well Street to its junction with Dene Drive; 
  • St Georges Road – from its junction with Swanlow Lane to its junction with Well Street
  •  Lower Haig Street – from its junction with Well Street to its junction with John Street;
  •  Upper Haig Street – from its junction with St Georges Road for its full extents;
  •  John Street – from its junction with Lower Haig Street for its full extents; 
  • Dean Street – from its junction with John Street for its full extents;
  • Cross Street – from its junction with Well Street for its full extents; 
  • Geneva Road – from its junction with Latham Street for its full extents; ​​​​​​​
  • Springbank Crescent – from its junction with Latham Street for its full extents; ​​​​​​​
  • Bowmere Drive – from its junction with Sringbank Crescent to its junction with Springbank Crescent; Lime Tree Close – from its junction with St Georges Road for its full extents; 
  • Hazel Drive – from its junction with St Georges Road to its junction with Cherry Crescent; Cherry Crescent – from its junction with Holly Drive to its junction with Crossfield Avenue; Sycamore Avenue – from its junction with Holly Drive to its junction with Cherry Crescent; Heaton Square – from its junction with Sycamore Avenue to its junction with Sycamore Avenue;
  • Chestnut Grove – from its junction with Cherry Crescent for its full extents;
  • Ash Grove – from its junction with Queensway for its full extents; ​​​​​​​
  • Briarwood Court - from its junction with Queensway for its full extents; ​​​​​​​
  • Crossfield Avenue – from its junction with Swanlow Lane to its junction with Dene Drive; Townfields Crescent – from its junction with Crossfield Avenue to its junction with Dene Drive; Oak Avenue – from its junction with Townsfield Crescent to its junction with Crossfield Avenue; 
  • Orchard Close – from its junction with Swanlow Lane for its full extents; 
  • Pear Tree Close – from its junction with Orchard Close for its full extents;
  • Laurel Bank – from its junction with Queensway to its junction with Sycamore Avenue; Overdene Road – from its junction with Lower Haigh Street for its full extents;
  • Latham Street – from its junction with Well Street to its junction with Springbank Crescent; Holly Drive – from its junction with sycamore Avenue to its junction with Heaton Square
Full details of the proposals are in the draft Order which, together with a plan showing the extent of the proposal may be examined during the usual office hours at the following locations:-
  • Winsford Area Highways Office, Phoenix House, Clough Road, Winsford, CW7 4BD; 
  • The One Stop Shop, Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council, Wyvern House, The Drumber, Winsford, Cheshire CW7 1AH;
  • Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council’s Information Centre at 1 The Arcade, Northwich CW9 5AS.
If you wish to object to the proposed Order, or to any provisions contained in it, you may do so in writing specifying the grounds on which it is made, to the undersigned quoting ref TRO 2142 by Friday 28 September 2018.
