Nominations open for CVA Volunteer Awards 2018
9 May 2018People who give up their free time to support their local community will be recognised as part of Chester Voluntary Action’s annual awards.
If you know a volunteer who deserves extra praise for making an impact in the community then now is the time to nominate them for one of these awards.
The categories are for Younger Volunteers (25 and under), Older Volunteers (over 65), Trustees, and the CVA Inspiration Award. This year also sees a brand new category for Good Neighbour which will recognise people who make a difference in their immediate community.
The awards are sponsored by Cheshire West and Chester Council and winners will be announced during Volunteers’ Week 2018 (1–7 June). The winner in each category will receive a complimentary place at the CVA Charity Ball to be held at The Chester Grosvenor in October.
Cllr Louise Gittins, Cabinet Member for Communities and Wellbeing, said: “There are so many people giving up their time to help local causes and the local community. Without volunteers, many vital support services would cease to function. These awards are a great way to demonstrate all the important work that goes on and a chance to show appreciation for great commitment.”
Nominations close on Wednesday 16 May and decisions on the winners will be made by a panel of people from the voluntary, public and private sector.
